Testimonials

Hi Larry and Steve,
Just a quick email to say thanks for the advise etc on the props for my 115 yammis on the kevlacat 2400, went the 4 blades from you guys and just cant believe the difference it has made to the boat, it has basicaly increased speed at all revrange from 2500 up by 5 knots, and supprisingly also has increased top end speed by the same, fuel uasge is a bit better as well, but generaly the boat is perfoming so much better I can't believe it, seems to sit better and doesnt drop a sponson like it used to, although it hurt spending the money at the time it was a lot better than putting 2 new 140 suzukis on!!! Anyway thanks for the advise much appreciated.

Dear Steve

I just wanted to write to thank you and Shane for the quality service I have received from both of you regarding the purchase of my new propeller for my Bayliner 175. I did research different props, manufactures and retailers before making my decision to purchase. Through my research I spoke to different people giving me mixed views as to the best solution to my wants.

After speaking to yourself and Shane and the knowledge that both of you have, I deiced to place my faith and order with you two guys. Understand that it was both you and Shane that made my decision to purchase not the business name and reputation. I must say that I made the correct decision. Just for some background on me, I manage Kloster Ford in Hamilton Newcastle.

My business turns over around 200 cars per calender month. I pride myself on my service. Like your business, my products are not the cheapest on the market even in the same brand. I believe that service is the most important component when I conduct business with my customers. Not only that but I would extend that to "after sales service". The majority of sales people will give you all the service required to gain your business but once the transaction has been completed the service seems to disappear.

That is where I excel and make sure my customers are happy and satisfied for the duration of the time they have their new vehicle. Because of this I have a return to purchase rate of about 30%. That is unheard of in my industry and I feel you and your team possess the same attitude and I am sure in your business your repeat business is high. Congratulations on the way you have treated me the service has been great! I will always have you as my 1st point of call when I need assistance for any other props I may need.

I hope you can use this testimonial if you ever have someone question you regarding your service.

G'day Steve

Just emailing to give you some feedback on a 4 blade 13 1/4 X 15 that I purchased for a 4.8 Polycraft powered by a 75 ETEC that I have been having some "fun" trying to get working right. Well after following your suggestion to get the motor as high as possible and ignore the dealer and Polycraft techs I have finally got the motor/prop combination as good as I can get it. Going up that extra hole (now 3rd hole on the motor bracket) has really made a surprising difference. I got it out for a quick run and did several runs both with and against the tide (Darwin Harbour) and finally had the motor nudging 5000rpm WOT (avg 4950)for the first time. Prop sounds good in the water and hangs on when trimmed out in wide turns unlike the Viper which was hopeless with the motor at this height. It holds the plane at 2900 in calm water and speed is up slightly across the range. BUT, the most noted improvement has been in fuel economy. Why the tech from Polycraft has't worked this combination out is a real worry ?? I thought I'd learnt a lesson in boat setup with my previous boat when I purchased a Solas Saturn and raised the motor a hole but this latest boat has been a real lesson in how small things can make such a difference......... and now my confidence in boat dealers is really shot. I still believe this particular Polycraft needs at least a 90HP or more on the back because as soon as you load the boat up with a few adults, normal gear, plus extra fuel and camping gear to go for weekend away as we do up here it starts to struggle a little. Mind you I've only done this with the BRP Viper so the Solas 4 blade may help in this situation. Hopefully I can send some more business your way as a friend owns the identical package as mine and is not quite happy with his setup so in a couple of weeks we'll be throwing my 4 blade on his boat and see how it goes.

Many thanks for your help on this and sorry that I sent the prop back prematurely, wish I had of tried the extra height before hand but too many other so called "experts" in my ear giving, what turned out to be, poor advice.

Thanks again,
Brett, Darwin

Hi Steve & Crew

Just a quick message to let you know that I am stoked with the pair of new 4 bladers you sent me.
I was initially led to believe that my engines were supposed to rev to 5800 and was worried that
the port side would only rev to 5300 and the starboard side 5500 with the new props. Since doing some research of my own,I found out
they are only supposed to rev 5000~5500 which is the range I am well inside.

Here are the figures we have achieved:

Speed @ 3500 has increased from 24knts to 26knts.
Speed @ 4200 has increased from 30knts to 34knts - Amazing!
Fuel consumption has dropped from 2.3 L/Nm to 2 L/Nm - Amazing also!
WOT speed has stayed the same @ 42knts - not to worried about this as I never run at this speed anyway.

Seems to have changed the tune of the engines - Seem quieter and smoother at cruise.
Normally struggle to reverse boat off trailer, need lots of revs - Recon I used half the revs to do the job with 4 bladers.
Allround allot more responsive .This test was done on around 600mm of chop, so cant wait to take it for a good long run in a bit of a sea
up to the northern gutters where we normally fish- approx 50nm from Hervey Bay marina.

There are quite a few guys interested in this test up here in the Bay so I'm sure you will receive a few calls soon on other props for other boats.
Thanks for your professional help- I will keep you posted after doing more long range tests.

Thanks again,
Larry

Feedback

Recently my brother Charles got in touch with one of you (sorry I can't remember his name) as we wished to re-prop our boat. You sent us out (to melb) your recommended prop and after trial we noticed a vast improvement. We then talked about a perhaps trying a smaller prop again. After a 3 way phone call between myself and my brother Charles and you guys you heard our views and sent us another prop to try. After the first 5 min in a trial we knew we were on a winner. So I suppose this e-mail is just a big thank-you to you all at solas your true professionalism and old fashion service was fantastic. I will definitely recommend you to people that I know. Once again on behalf of my brother Charles and my self, thank- you.

Regards, Anthony.

Dear Sales Staff

My son – Brad telephoned you sales department on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 and spoke with a very helpful lady.  My husband has been having problems with propellers on his little run about and Brad was making enquiries on his Dad’s behalf.

Outcome – propeller was paid for at 11.49 that morning and despatched the same day.
My husband could not believe that is was delivered by courier at about 11.30 a.m., on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 twenty four hours after paying for it.
Your company and staff are wonderful – great stuff!!!!!!!!
By the way, my husband has only told about ten people who own boats but he will continue to spread the word about your great service!

Regards, Barbara

Very satisfied!

Tried out my New Saturn last night on the Polycraft Challenger with a 50 hp E-Tec. It was apparent from the moment I put it into gear that this prop had more thrust than BRP Viper, and as I advanced the throttle my 10 yo daughter immediately said it felt better too! For the same rpm the boat now moves 1-1.5 kts faster, and top speed is nearly a knot faster.

All traces of cavitation are gone, in fact in very tight turns where drag slows the boat, the rpm drops with boat speed as the prop stays hooked up, instead of blowing out with no drive as it did before. I can trim out much further than before, and I don't need to trim in for normal turns. The drive of the prop also feels a bit smoother, and it holds plane at lower speeds much more easily for the same rpm than it used to.

We are very satisfied with our purchase of a Solas propeller and feel it was worth every cent. Please feel free to show my comments to other potential purchasers. I would also like to thank you for the knowledgable and personal advice you offered, which was pretty much spot on!

tnx

Solas prop for savage /merc combo

G'day Steve, Jade Cornish from Team Savage NSW... Mate, I am stoked with the prop, performance is fantastic and the service as good if not better. Have spoken to at least 5 interested tournament anglers have passed your number on to them, so expect a few calls. If you could get some buisness cards/brocures to me they will be distributed this weekend at the final round of NSW Bassin tournament - already 60 teams entered and your services will be highly recomended. 2 spare shirts and 2 hats would be great.

Thanks again Steve.

Prop advice/fix

What can I say! First up, 1 week turn around from tassie back blocks to you and back, to my door! This prop has transformed my boat, I still thought , with a 2" keel in front of the prop and a not real true bottom on the old girl I would still have some issues, not on your nelly! I can trim the engine right out to the tilt and still turn it! fantastic is all I can say. I am recommending you to all my boating mates. And will be buying all my future props from you.

Thanks and have a good Christmas.

Congratulations

Steve and Team

I have now dealt with your company on a number of occasions and feel compelled to provide this feedback. On each occasion that I have sought your teams technical advice the response has not only been accurate in fixing the problem but also prompt.

I don't know how you do it however at each interaction I have felt like the only person you had to serve that day which from your volume of business I know is not true.

Across all businesses I have dealt with I would rate yours as one of the best if not the best. Our boats perform best with Solas props.

Congratulations.

Sincerely,

Feedback

Hi Craig, Ken here from Toowoomba and i would like to give you some good feed back on the 11.6, prop, that i ordered off you for my 60 hp merc 4 stroke on my 435 blue fin wildcat.

I fitted the prop and went for a run to somerset on saturday and it has improved the boats performance in a big way.

I didn't have ideal water for a good test run, as the wind blew it's arse off all day and the water was quiet choppy, but here are a few figures to compare the old prop with the new.

With the original prop at 4500 rpm the boat would cruise at 24 mph and with the new prop it cruises along at 27 mph.

At full throttle with the original prop i could just make 32 mph at 5800 rpm fully trimed up and with the new prop fully trimed up it got to 37 mph in full trim up and the out of the hole performance is a lot better as well.

With the original prop, fully trimmed up the motor was pulling 5800 rpm and the new prop in the trimmed up position it pulls 5600 rpm, and in the fully trimmed down position the motor drops back to 4900 rpm, so i wouldn't go any larger.

As you can see from the figures, it certainly has improved it and i am one happy customer.

Thanks and best regards,

Purchase of new propeller

Just a quick note regarding a propeller I have recently purchased from you through Rum City Marine in Bundaberg. It has completely changed how my boat handles with regards to trim ability & top end speed. I had to install a foil on my new 40HP Honda outboard (drilling holes in new motor was not a good feeling) to gain sufficient trim to lower the nose. Also the top end speed slowly reduced over 12 months as the standard Honda prop slowly started to flex and bend the tips back. After installing your prop it has allowed me to remove the foil and have ample lower trim and also a higher top end speed as the prop is not flexing. Solas props, great product would recommend.

Job well done

You may recall that you recently supplied me with a New Saturn 12 p Stainless prop as a replacement for a Mercury Vengeance prop for my 60HP Yamaha 4 stroke mounted a heavy Black Arrow 5 metre plate hull. Just advising that I was finally able to water test the boat on Saturday and the performance is perfect. Vessel now trims out at 5600RPM and produces excellent speed. Did a 95Klm run down the Adelaide river which is a tidal meandering waterway. Lots of bends. Very little cavitation through those, which meant that didn`t have to trim down (and reduce revs) very often at all, unlike the Vengeance.

Thanks very much for your expertise. Will certainly recommend you whenever possible. Job well done.

Fantastic

Hi there guys. Just a note thanking you all for your help and to STEVE for selling me the right prop 1st time. My boat now does what it should, it will drive all the way to 5500rpm little if no cavitation, steers much better, top speed increase by 10 mph so alls good down here.

Thankyou all once again.
Chris Noble

Thankyou

Just a note to say thanks for bringing my 5m boat alive. The New saturn prop you sent me works great. It lets the motor rev to the 6000rpm its suppose to and makes the boat come up on plane a lot better. The boat is an Allison Fisherman 5 fitted with a 60hp carby 4 stroke merc.

Thanks again,
Alan
